Summertime is the season to dayudream about next year’s bsketball. And yes, this is a post that lays out one hell of a big dream.
It starts off with this video of Joel Embiid practicing his jumper. Apparently, he is working hard on his jumper this offseason and it looks like that work is paying off. Let’s assume for a moment that the video reflects in-game aptitude to shoot threes. Embiid can then set up inside or outside. If he sets up outside, he draws the opposing big man out of the lane. Say hello to drivers like Markelle Fultz and Ben Simmons. If he sets up inside, say hello to spot up shooters such as JJ Recick and Fulz and Covington.
And this does not even mention what he can do on a pick and roll. Simmons or Fultz with the ball working off an Embiid pick? Wow! And that is jut a start.
