Paris Shopping on the Rue de Seine

This opening line to a story always captures my imagination

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon la Joie de Vivre shop on rue de Seine in the 6th arrondissement.

Errr … the 6th? Siri, what can you tell me about the 6th arrondissement in a few words? Wikipedia to the rescue!

Situated on the left bank of the River Seine, this central arrondissement … includes the historic districts of Saint-Germain-des-Prés (surrounding the Abbey founded in the 6th century) and Luxembourg (surrounding the Palace and its Gardens)

Ah yes, Saint Germain-des Prés. Was revolutionary (Sartre, et al) now riche!

It is a major locale for art galleries and one of the most fashionable districts of Paris as well as Paris’ most expensive area.

So, we get our “joie de vivre” only if we are prepared for some sticker shock! Never mind! It is at least worth a peek, n’est ce pas? Some new cocktail glasses, perhaps?

If not, we might consider the Food Lover’s walking tour of the rue de Seine. Or just check out the photos!
