Yesterday, I posted on what we might expect after the Iraqis dislodge ISIS from Mosul. My main point was to sound the alrm that this will not be an “end game” for terrorism. ISIS will not just disappear, even after Raqqa is taken.
Today, I read a piece by Anders Corr that paints a darker picture of what is going on. Anders makes the good point that Sunnis do not trust the Shiite militias that are supposed to protect them. And we are likely to see ongoing Sunni insurgency.
If Anders is right, the question becomes how to avoid yet another explosion?
