Elon Musk is at it again! He arrived in Adelaide to sign a deal to build the biggest lithium ion battery in the world!
The historic agreement between French renewable energy provider Neoen, the South Australian government, and Tesla will put South Australia at the forefront of global energy storage technology.
The 100MW/129MWh battery, paired with Neoen’s Hornsdale wind farm, 230km north of the capital, Adelaide will have the ability to power 50,000 houses.
Risky? Yes. This will be 3x larger than any other system on earth. Building something like that with new technology is indeed risky. But Musk seems to lap up risk the way a kitty laps up milk. Err … one hopes, of course, that Musk does analyze things more than the kitty would.
