I have seen at least one article arguing that JJ Redick is not worth the $23 million that the Sixers will pay him to play in Philly next season on a one-year deal. I strongly disagree. Jonathan Tjarks lays out the reasons why the deal makes sense for all concerned.
Here are the main points
- The Sixers have the money to burn
- The amount they are paying is not out of line with current NBA standards
- Redick is the perfect floor spacer for Simmons, Fultz and Embiid – He is an outside threat without the ball in his hands
- Redick is a vet on a team that is overloaded with heavy acne cream users
This will be the most exciting Sixers team thta we have seen in decades – perhaps since the old Doctor J year when Moses Malone came to town. Errrr … does anyone remember that group except me? Can’t wait for th enew year!
