Playing tonight! Ok Joel Embiid is out, but Nerlens is back … at least for the time being.
The situation is a bit painful. Nerlens is on the last year of his rookie contract, and wants a big payout next year. He is not going to get it with the Sixers coming off the bench. So it is trade time.
On the other hand, it would be fun to see Nerlens and Embiid as the two main centers. Put another way, Okafor’s lack of defense seems to me more of a problem than Nerlens limited offense. Why? The Sixers will have Simmons, and a bunch of guys who can shoot three’s. They are likely to get a top level wing player in the draft. They are building up offensive firepower. But when Embiid goes to the bench, it’s layup time for the other side.
