AI is quite the thing these days. You see media attention nearly every day about improvements to artificial intelligence technology.
BTW, I am tracking the here – you can find a stream of articles under the tracing A – L menu.
Here is the thing. No one knows where AI tech development will end up. We do not know how fast this will move. Nor do we know what types of products and services will emerge. And we do not k now if a single entity (like Google or Amazon or Microsoft or Apple or others) will be able to dominate the field.
We also know that the potential is huge. But there is a downside. AI controlled by less than community based actors can be dangerous to all of us. Enter stage left, Open AI
OpenAI’s mission is to build safe AI, and ensure AI’s benefits are as widely and evenly distributed as possible. We’re trying to build AI as part of a larger community, and we want to share our plans and capabilities along the way. We’re also working to solidify our organization’s governance structure and will share our thoughts on that later this year.
Open AI is backed by Elon Musk and other tech big shots. And it is taking off, hiring folks who have expertise that can be useful.
I will be tracking what OpenAI can do along with other AI tech news.
